The Treacherous Shadow

There is this entity,
Lurking within us.
We might not see it,
But its presence is among us.

It is like a shadow,
A shadow it might seem.
Make the wrong move,
and it will control you from within.

It might be a shadow,
But its presence is so alluring.
It may seem that you're in control,
When in fact you already are in a big fall.

But do not fret weary heart,
For there is this promise.
A light that will pull you out,
in this treacherous darkness.

I shout all my praise,
to the One who pulled me out.
Pulled me out of this daze,
That I though I can never come out.

A daze that I though was pure.
When in fact it was all a lie!
This treacherous shadow,
Now pulled out of my life.

The battle may have been won,
But it is never over.
Sharpen up your swords,
Strengthen your defenses.

That was just one of many battles,
We are here to win a war.
A war whether you like it or not,
You will have to take part.

Lurking and ready to pounce,
Another shadow is hiding.
Never forget the source of your light,
and keep that fire burning.

God & Provider: How do we Really use it?

We all have heard a lot of Christians say this phrase: "God __ Provider."I intentionally left a blank space for many of us have our own ways of saying it.

But all in all, it talks about God being the provider. Just one question, why leave it blank Dude?


Well, today I want to change your perspective on God is-to Provider. Many of us use this couple of words a lot of times, but I tell you many of us have "glitches" when we use these words.

Okay, let me tell you a common phrase that people usually say when coupling these. of words.
That is: God will Provide.

Yeah, all is well and good, and sounds good to, but I tell you Dudes and Dudettes. People tend to overuse the phrase "God will provide."

God is the great provider, no questions about that.
But, are we really grasping the REAL essence of God being A PROVIDER? Or are we really thinking too much of ourselves when we say this phrase?

How WE THINK OF GOD as being the provider GREATLY MATTERS ON US! OUR CHARACTER. Before we even say phrases that are coupled with God and Provider, we must ask ourselves this.

That question is: ARE WE CONTENTED?

This question will greatly influence on how we grasps God's providence!

He knows what we really need, and knows when to give it.

So whether or not God give what you ask for, continue to trust Him.
You can assure yourself that you may never always have what you want, BUT! you are never ever in need!
Woooahh! but mind you, looking at your life right now, I am so sure that God has given you things that your heart had desired! Am I right? :P

Let me tell you this Dude and Dudettes!

Don't say God can provide, that's just intellectual assent
Don't say God should provide, who are you to say that?
Don't say God will provide, that's presumption,expecting it to come to you.
Say to yourself, GOD IS THE PROVIDER, that is faith! 

God knows when to give it to you. You might not have it because you might not be ready to receive it yet. You might not get what you have asked and prayed for because God has a better one for you.

Always remember!
God has a better one for your best! 

He assured us that! Have a read on these verses:
Philippians 4: 19
Hebrews 13: 5 
Philippians 4: 11-13
Matthew 6: 31-32
Matthew 7: 11

There are a lot more where that came from and if you read those verses, you have the solution in your hand.

So, say to yourself: God is the provider and I trust Him. Whether or not He gives me what I ask for or not, I will continue to trust Him.

Beautiful, Sparkling Green

Lights fill up the sky,
As I stroll along the walkway.
The season has just ended,

But, the joy is there to stay.

At the bench I sat in,
I catch a glimpse of a girl.

Her eyes sparkles green,
As beautiful as she is.

"I really like your eyes"
I wished I could have said it.

But, her mom is there,
So, I'd rather just look and sit.

I did look at her,
She looked back.

Woah! Those beautiful eyes.

How I wish you could have.

It was nice seeing you,
Hope I didn't creep you out.
You really do have beautiful eyes.

Waiting...

There's a princess out there,
I don't know who.

and in time, He will give me the words,

Be the light that He has planned....

Considering God Always

In everything we do always consider God

For in the things that He does for us
And even in the things that we do for Him

He is the only one to make us able to do it :D

Always wait for God's acknowledgement

For even the things that are good that we want to do for Him
He might say "no" to those because it is not part of His plan for you

The grace of God for man is too often turned into the idea that it is man who does heroic things for God.

YET THE MAIN THEME OF GRACE IS WHAT HE DOES FOR US!

Take for Example David, David received favor from God. Name it, from battle wins and blessings, David received a lot from God. BUT despite that David never forgot to consult with God first, even in the things he wants to do for Him

2 Samuel 8: 14 says "The Lord gave victory to David wherever he went"

We discover that the history of David is not about what David did for God, but about what God did for David!

Want to do great things for God?
Then wait for His acknowledgement! It is such a great feeling when we do things for Him. But if we do it without His consent, even in the things we want to do for Him, that good thing you want to do will fail :)

Read and take heart the verses:
You are my Lord, I have no good apart from you - Psalm 16: 2
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above - James 1: 17
A person cannot receive even one thing unless it is given him from heaven - John 3: 27
You have indeed done for us all our works - Isaiah 26: 12

Knowing God more is one of the most essential steps you can take.
For the best way to remember God's calling in all our decisions is to know God more :))

To set aside time to simply be with God and not "do" anything for Him, we become better equipped to serve HIM.

It is not what we can do for God, but more on what God can do for us

What Happened on Eleven-Eight!

I don't usually talk about my birthday, but when I do something awesome just happened! 

I don't usually get gifts during birthdays, but when I do it makes me want to jump!

And that is why this blog post has weirdly existed!

I usually think of birthdays, well my birthday for that matter, as a normal day. To add, this day was quite busy, especially now that I am taking up my engineering review. Of course, I never forget to thank the Lord for the previous year that I enJOYed.

When your birthday comes, it is normal for friends to tease you for threats and yeap! My friends never failed to address that. Sad to say though, pockets where quite empty, but greetings where a lot. Wooh! Another thing to thank the Lord about! :)

Well, that is not why I am writing to you now about my birthday for there is something that happened to me that touched, as friends label me, my "melancholic-choleric personality." Though I do not know what it fully means, but anyway!

I am quite fond with kids, and when a kid gives me something as simple as a paper filled with crayon drawings, well it touched me a lot.  Yanka, a kid that I am close to in TCA give me something that I will surely treasure. It is a greeting card (greeting drawing for that matter) during my birthday. It may not look like a Da Vinci like masterpiece, but it is quite a masterpiece for me.

One thing that I find cute about this thing is that she inverted the J. She even missed practices for her presentation just to make this one!

Yeah, it is a simple gift, but a child having a pure and honest heart - that itself is very rewarding! Thanks Yanka! Kuya will treasure this one for sure!

The Lord loves children and we should love them with the love of Jesus. He gave us good examples, and we should follow those examples as well. Young as they may seem, but these children are quiet capable than you could ever imagine. Even more capable than you and me, and that is one of the many reasons why I am fond of them! ;))

Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.

When I say I am a Christian

Being a Christian has been awesome! Thinking back and comparing the way I am now and the way I was before is really different. If we put that in a mathematical equation. That is Euler's number raised to positive infinity!

Just wanted to share to you a part of my let-us-say farewell testimony to my ever dearest Y.A. Family

When I say I am a Christian...

I am not shouting that "I am clean living"
I am whispering "I was lost, but now I'm found and forgiven"

When I say I am a Christian...

I do not speak of this with pride
I am confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide

When I say I am a Christian...

I am not trying to be strong
I am professing that I am weak and need His strength to carry on

When I say I am a Christian...

I am not bragging about success
I am admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess

When I say I am a Christian...

I am not claiming to be perfect
My flaws are too invisible, but God believes I am worth it

When I say I am a Christian...

I still feel the sting of pain
I have my share of heartaches, so I call upon His name

When I say I am a Christian...

I not holier than any of you
I am a sinner who received God's grace and made me new

If you ever think being a Christian ain't fun? Well, wooah stop right there! Are you sure on what you are saying? Or you are just saying it because you haven't really stepped into the shoes of what really is a CHRISTIAN - it's not religion, it is Who you have in you.

Want to enjoy life? Step into the life of a Christian. Yes, it is painful IF we look at it in the eyes of the World. But, if we look at it on how Christ wants us to view it. It is so worth it! :D

The shoes of a Christian may not be spic and span, but it can and it will survive the rugged roads that you will experience in life.

Enjoy life with the JOY that is coupled with it :)))

Got Bored: Shirt Design Time!

School for this week is out because of the Palakasan going on at school - i.e., NO CLASSES. That means I've got one week to spread my knees and enjoy the hot morning sun (or the cold evening for that matter).

I didn't realize that it can get boring doing nothing. Furthermore, I can't report my project updates because office is out! So, my brain decided to apt for shirt designing. Ideas were rushing in so I made both these designs in just less than an hour. They are simple really, but hey! They look cool! (Well, in my point of view).

Well, to cut it short here are my designs! Hope you like 'em too :)

Patience Overstretched

I have quite the patience,
More than you think it is.
Stretch it all you want,
Stretch it even more.

Just be careful where you step on,
Be very careful stretching that patience on and on.
Brute fights is never my option,
It is through words that I'll get your attention.

I'm quite a serious man so to speak,
Quite observable from the very first peek.
Yes I do become bubbly,
But I take EVERYTHING seriously.

The way you act now?
I'm just not up to it.
I've been patient with you,
But you over-stretching it.

I'm like a piece of steel,
Malleable and flexible.
Just be very careful,
I may turn into a double edged steel.

I'm still patient with you though,
No need to worry.
I'm still serious,
But can be quite bubbly.

Act right and we will be in sync,
Getting along with you has been quite a slick.
Just don't overstretch it...

Smiles can be quite complex,

A smile is like a keyhole,

On Things Labeled Bad

Have you ever experienced a speech that suddenly popped out of your head? Well, I don't know if anyone of you experience this kind of thing, but hey! I do! And here's one. Felt that this is one good share for all of you dudes and dudettes ;D

Not all things that are labeled bad are BAD
It is actually how it is being used that makes it bad.

Take money for example:

Many of us have heard this:
MONEY -It is the root of all evil! It is even in the bible!

Yes! it is in the bible,stated like this:
For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. - 1 Timothy 6: 10 (NIV)

But Hey! It DIDN'T say that money is evil.
It is actually how it is being spent that makes it one :)

A friend ones told me:

God allowed technology to develop not to allow be used by the enemy but to be used for His Glory!

Use everything you have wisely and carefully! May it be money, the internet and even your phone!

Use it for good and not of bad :))

Nature to Selfishess

Selfishness is the root of every problem. Sad to say, selfishness is mankind's fundamental defect.

I once read a line from one of my devotional guides that said

 

The only thing necessary to change heaven into hell - If God were to allow it - is selfishness.

Where there is jealousy and selfishness, there is also disorder and every kind of evil. - James 3: 16 (TEV)

We may never have realized this but we are products of a corrupt culture that teaches us selfishness. We are listening to them without us knowing that they are teaching us to become selfish.

THAT IS WHY IT IS NOT UNUSUAL FOR US TO THINK IT IS NOT SO BAD
Because of our selfish nature, we might do things that are selfish without us even realizing it.

BUT! We are called to change this!

However, we are unable to change by ourselves because again, it is our nature.

 

You can't change the FRUIT without changing the ROOT

That is why, we need to be born again in order for us to become new and set our roots not on selfishness but unto Jesus Christ - who can change us inwardly to become an unselfish person.

Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. Old things have passed away. - 2 Corinthians 5: 17 (NIV)

Being selfish is already our nature and changing it by ourselves - our own power, is really impossible. But, through Jesus Christ  - He is able to change us. Freeing us from those binding roots. Completely changing us into a new person.

Well Worth Blessing

Blessings are everywhere,
You don't need to look left and right.
All you need to do is close you eyes,
There it will shine bright.

Blessing are not always the good stuff.
Sometimes you may need a little of the bad.
They exist for a purpose,
Though they might make you sad.

But, stand firm in those trials,
Its there to gear you up.
Bad things always have their silver lining.
Waiting for the perfect time to pop-up.

When that perfect time comes,
A great blessing will arrive.
A great testimony on your part,
a reward for you endured.

It can be confusing, but hold on.
All you need to do is trust Him,
Everything you see is a blessing.
A blessing well worth the waiting.
