Like A Lily

Like A Lily

As Christian's it is normal for us to face trials as we go on through life. The bible even tells us this:
In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted - 2 Timothy 3: 12
Trials are part of our lives, and sometimes they drain us up to the bone. However, as we experience these events, it does not mean life is already over for us.

I have found a very nice devotional written by Michael Jones that tells us that in these times, in these great troubles...Be like a lily.

Ever notice the Lily?

A beautiful flower that grows, flourishes and maintains its incredibly delightful aroma despite the ugly and gloomy muck in which it is sometimes found to have sprung its roots.

WE TOO MUST BECOME LIKE THIS BEAUTIFUL FLOWER!

Able to withstand the negativity, anger, spiteful words and foul attitudes others sometimes spew in our direction.

We must become like the Lily which retains its elegant and pleasant attributes regardless of its
circumstances or environment. So when your weeks are tough, when they appear painfully endless and the darts of the enemy feels more painful with every toss, do what the lily does.

Here are some verses to enlighten you up!

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go. - Joshua 1:9

Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. - Isiah 41: 10

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me - Philippians 4:13

The LORD is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The LORD is the defense of my life; Whom shall I dread - Psalm 27: 1

We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that his life may also be revealed in our mortal body. - 2 Corinthians 4:8-11

I am the light of the world; he who follows Me shall not walk in the darkness, but shall have the light of life. - John 8: 12

Hold your head up high and lean towards the light! CHRIST JESUS!

There are trials that are easy to win, and trials that will try to dry us up, but with the grace of God in us, we will surely conquer all of them!

There may be times that we lose some battles that makes us think to give up, but never forget, battles are just part of the war you are on. With God as your general, the "war" that you are in will always be a victory on your side!

I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. - John 16: 33

Take heart, have faith and continue holding on!
BE LIKE THE LILY :))
